Introduction and Overview

Birth of Prosoft Ltd

Prosoft Ltd was formed in March 1993 by Roy and Yvonne Parlane. Previously Roy and Yvonne had both worked in the Machine Tool industry and had run their own Machine Tool Company, specialising in the supply and support of CNC Machine Tools to the New Zealand and Australian markets.

Roy has an extensive background in CNC machine tools having in his early days undergone in depth training regimes in multiple CNC Machine tool manufacturers around the world, going on to be a field service engineer for several years installing and training customers on the operation of their CNC machines.

Beginning Journey of NZ Mastercam Dealer

Roy’s experience and reputation brought him to the attention of Mastercam. A visit by the sister of the founding brothers of Mastercam seeking a dealer and partner for the New Zealand territory. This marked the beginning of a long and successful both personal and business relationship with Mastercam.

Initially Mastercam was introduced as a product of their Machine tool company. However, it soon became clear this was not the right channel and Prosoft came into being through demand from the market for a separate marketing entity focusing solely on the sale and support of the world leading Mastercam product.

Since these beginnings Prosoft has enjoyed the support of both Mastercam and its worldwide dealer network. The benefits have and continue to be valued by its continually growing New Zealand customer base.
